Friends of the Tyler Public Library
About this Organization
Did you know that the programs provided by the public library are not funded by the City of Tyler? The City pays salaries and general building expenses, but not for programming and events. The Friends of the Tyler Public Library funded $16,500 in 2024! It is only possible with donations and support from members of the community like you.
The programming provided includes...
Summer and winter reading programs
Spanish language materials for native speakers and language learners
Makerspace experiences for STEM education
DnD nights for young adults
3D Printers for public use
Copies and Printers for public use
Microfilm reader upgrades
Ancestry.com and Military.com access
In addition to the program funding provided, in 2023-24 the Friends also provided new carpet, new lighting, new paint, and sound system upgrades in the public auditorium!
We are thrilled to continue to improve and expand the library's ability to meet the needs of the community. Currently, we are working on funding for a mobile book mobile to serve the community in outreach and have exciting plans to provide private study and meeting space in the library.
Join us in improving the Tyler community for all!
