Elijah's Retreat is a sanctuary for families facing autism. Inspired by the belief that "autism is not a disability; it is a different ability" (Stuart Duncan), we celebrate the unique strengths of each individual we serve. Our mission is to provide a peaceful, supportive environment where families can reconnect, children can grow through outdoor adventures and therapeutic animal interactions, and everyone is empowered to thrive. We believe that with love, encouragement, and the right environment, children with autism can reach their fullest potential and make a meaningful impact on the world.

Elijah's Retreat is a sanctuary for families facing autism, offering an affordable, peaceful escape where they can relax, connect, and create lasting memories. Located in Jacksonville, Texas, we serve over 420 families each year with sensory-friendly vacations focused on nature, therapeutic animal interactions, and outdoor adventures.

We provide a welcoming, judgment-free space where children can play freely-riding horses, fishing, exploring the playground, and engaging in sensory-safe activities-while families bond and find rest.

Our impact extends beyond the retreat. Through our internship program, we mentor 10-12 autistic young adults annually, helping them build job and communication skills. We also foster inclusion through community outreach events like Top Soccer, the Extraordinary Rodeo, and the Exceptional Kids Livestock Show.

With new cabins, a splash pad, and upcoming recreational additions like a basketball and pickleball court, we continue growing to meet the needs of the families we serve. Elijah's Retreat is more than a getaway-it's a place of healing, hope, and belonging.
