Tyler Museum of Art

The Tyler Museum of Art exists as an educational and cultural center to enrich the lives of East Texas citizens and visitors through the collection, preservation, study, exhibition, interpretation, and celebration of the visual arts.

Celebrating its 46th year of serving the greater East Texas community, the Tyler Museum of Art is approaching its one millionth visitor. Many people do not realize that the Museum must raise 90 cents of every dollar we spend each year. Here are a few things the TMA is able to accomplish for our community with your support:
- Welcome close to 2,000 students to the Museum each year in our School Tour Program, most from Title I economically-disadvantaged schools and experiencing their first (and in many cases, only) art museum visit during childhood - at no cost to the schools
- Organize and present 10-12 major exhibitions annually
- Continue growing our Permanent Collection - now including close 1,500 works of art
- Offer free admission to children and students of all ages
- Open for free Family Days the second Saturday of every month
- Host creative weeklong Art Camps for kids ages 6-13+ each summer
- Give close to 100 aspiring artists their first opportunity for a full-scale museum showcase with the annual High School Art Exhibition
- Enrich adult learners and art enthusiasts with lecture programs, gallery talks, symposia and First Friday Tours led by artists and art historians - usually with free admission
- Extend museum resources into underserved parts of the community through outreach programs with the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs, cancer survivors' groups
