The Fostering Collective

A nonprofit organization

The Fostering Collective exists to recruit, equip, and support Christ-centered families across East Texas to care for children in foster care.

There are approximately 1,400 children currently in foster care in East Texas. Nearly 100 of these children have had their parental rights terminated and are waiting for a forever family. Due to a shortage of foster homes, close to half of these children are placed outside the region—often hundreds of miles away from their homes, schools, churches, friends, and extended family.

With locations in Tyler, Mount Pleasant, and Henderson, and serving 23 counties, The Fostering Collective is committed to meeting this urgent need by mobilizing local families and communities.

We serve in four key ways:

  1. Guiding Families: We help families who are interested in fostering or adopting take their first steps and walk alongside them through the licensing process.

  2. Supporting Families: We connect active foster and adoptive families with vital resources—such as community groups, training opportunities, childcare, medical providers, counseling, and more.

  3. Mobilizing Communities: We partner with churches, agencies, and organizations to connect their resources with children and families in need.

  4. Advocating for Children: Through Heart Gallery East Texas, we raise awareness and inspire adoption by connecting children—when reunification is not possible—with their forever families.
