At Sharon’s Place, we believe every adult with special needs is created with a God-given purpose. Our mission is to improve the holistic well-being of our "Friends" through programs that foster purpose, connection, and joy in a grace-filled environment.

Our program allows our Friends to engage in recreation and fitness, express themselves through creative arts, enhance their life skills, and explore the world on field trips. We also take pride in our community service projects, where our Friends experience the blessing of serving others.

As a Christ-based ministry, our faith is the foundation of everything we do. Whether a family is financially secure or facing tight margins, the weight of providing lifelong care for someone with special needs is a shared concern. By making our services available at no cost or for a nominal fee, we help every family preserve their resources for their loved one’s long-term security and future care.

• $25 – A Day of Discovery: Covers the cost of supplies for one of our Friends to participate in one of our many classes and activities, ensuring they have the opportunity to fulfill their God-given purpose.
• $50 – Community Connection: Funds the transportation, admission, and lunch for a Friend to enjoy a field trip within the East Texas community, fostering belonging and new experiences.
• $75 – Fitness & Well-Being: Provides a month of adaptive recreation and fitness programming for a Friend, supporting their physical health and holistic well-being.
• $100 – Spiritual Growth: Funding to help send a Friend to church camp.
• $500 – The Gift of Peace: Offsets the program costs for multiple families, allowing them to redirect those vital funds into lifelong care savings for their loved one.

The Reality: Most parents/caregivers of adults with special needs never retire from caregiving. They spend their lives worrying about who will provide the same love and care when they no longer can. Sharon’s Place is supported through the generosity of individuals, businesses, churches and organizations. We do not receive any state or federal funding.
