New Texas Sinfonia

New Texas Sinfonia is a professional chamber orchestra dedicated to providing the best orchestral and chamber music to communities throughout Texas alongside engaging educational outreach for all ages.

New Texas Sinfonia was founded in early 2020 as an innovative professional chamber orchestra for Texas.

Our fifth season began with "Paris: La Belle Époque" featuring music inspired by the "City of Light" with violin soloist Mann-Wen Lo and harp soloist Margaret Davis. From the saucy rhythms of Camille Saint-Saëns' Havanaise to the tranquil beauty of Claude Debussy's Claire de lune, there was passion, drama, joy and fun to open the season. Our second program "In an English Garden" (postponed due to last season's inclement weather) finally came to fruition and it was wonderful to be transported musically to the rolling green hills of England with music by Elgar, Holst, Finzi, and others.

The season concludes with "Mostly Mozart" on May 30th at 3 pm. Joined by bassoon soloist Kahlan Yenney, New Texas Sinfonia performs Mozart's Bassoon Concerto and his ebullient 34th Symphony. Other exciting works by C. P. E. Bach and Franz Schubert fill out the program for what promises to be a great afternoon of music-making!

Alongside all of this is our unwavering commitment to inspiring young people through our Fiddle Zoo for Kids program. Join us on Saturday, May 30th from 10-11:30 am for our instrument petting zoo, complete with live performances, musical games and activities. Free admission, come and go whenever!
