Our Mission Statement is "Seeking to put God's love into action Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope." Our Mission Vision is "A world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live." Our Motto is "A Hand UP not a Handout."

Safe and affordable housing crisis is at an all-time high in the US, within the State of Texas and Mt. Pleasant is no exception to this crisis. Mt. Pleasant Habitat for Humanity has been addressing our local need for safe and affordable home since our first "New Construction" home in 1994. Mt. Pleasant Habitat partners with local Churches, volunteers, businesses, donors, contractors and our Qualified Partnered Families, to provided safe and affordable homes to 29 local families. Our "Partnered Families" have many "Sweat Equity" hours invested which we use in lieu of a financial down payment on their mortgage, which are with Zero Interest throughout the course of their loan.

Homeownership offers profound and sustainable benefits, such as better educational outcomes, stronger communities, wealth generation and lower neighborhood crime. The benefits and transformative effects of homeownership are generational for not only our "Partnered Families" but Mt. Pleasant as well.

We were overjoyed to welcome our latest new "Partnered Family" into our "Homeownership Program" by closing on their "Forever Home" in 2025.  With the sale of the home to our "Partnered Family", we have now paused on our "New Construction" program for 2026.

With this "New Construction" program pause, Mt. Pleasant Habitat Board of Directors have been busy with reinventing and expanding our "Repair Program" to include not only our "Brush with Kindness" program but our New "Critical Care" program! With the revamping and expanding our "Repair Programs", we will, with the help of our local volunteers, be able to help more families within our service area of Mt. Pleasant City proper with a safer place to live.  Both of these programs are designed to help create a long-term sustainability of preserving existing ramps and the construction of new ramps for the safety and convenience of the "Partnered Families" of Mt. Pleasant.

We are excited to announce we are bringing back our "Brush with Kindness" Repair Program, but with a twist!  Our focus for this program will be partnering with local volunteers to "Paint the Ramps", painting wheelchair ramps with sand-based paint for the ramps and weather resistant stain the railing.  With this program, we will be able to additional safety protection by providing extra stability and traction as they use the ramps in their everyday activities.  While the ramps are sand-based paint and the rails are stained with weather resistant stain, this offers protection for the adverse weather conditions and expands the durability of the ramps.

In addition to the "Brush with Kindness" Repair Program, we have created a "Critical Care" Repair Program, partnering with Texas Ramps Projects of Titus County to help with the construction of wheelchair ramps for "Partnered Families" in Mt. Pleasant.

All this would not be possible without YOU, our donors, Churches, volunteers, businesses, contractors, and our entire community! You are the wind beneath our wings! Thank you for your continued support.
