Longview Community Ministries

Longview Community Ministries serves as an organization to enable Longview congregations and groups to work together more effectively in the community through cooperative acts of service to assist persons in need regardless of race, religion, or creed.

In 2025, we experienced a 43.67% increase in the number of bags of groceries distributed compared to last year, totaling an impressive 63,360 bags. This increase reflects the growing need within our community, and I'm proud to say that we rose to the challenge. Not only did we distribute more groceries, but we also saw a 20% increase in the overall number of clients receiving assistance. This means more families, children, and seniors are receiving desperately needed support.

Through our Coats for Kids initiative, we provided 605 warm coats to children in need, ensuring they stay warm during the chilly months. Our Meals with Love program delivered 20,020 meals to elderly and/or disabled individuals, bringing nourishment and a friendly smile to those who may feel isolated.

Moreover, we assisted 225 individuals with rent and 217 individuals with their utility bills, helping them maintain stability in their homes. We also filled 105 prescriptions, ensuring that healthcare is accessible to those who need it the most. Education is a key component of community empowerment, and through our Learning Lab, we enhanced the education of 53.
