God's Closet

Our Mission is to eliminate hunger & feed hope in Camp County & share the love of Jesus. We are a primary destination point for people in need. God's Closet is a volunteer staffed non-profit that has served this community for 16 years. We provide food, school supplies, kids coats, wheel chairs, Bible & more via local donations & in store sales. Our food expenses are increasing and the number of families in need of assistance is increasing also. As food prices rise more and more seniors on fixed income rely on us. 1 in 6 in East Texas are food insecure and need our help to make end meet. A senior should not have to choose between medicine for their spouse of food for their grandkids.

God's Closet is the primary food pantry for Camp County and spends about $6,000 a month on food from a few sources. Our priorities are food, keeping kids in school, helping meet our seniors citizens' basic needs, spreading love & removing desperation. With some help from local businesses God's Closet provides school supplies for about 500 financially challenged kids (from Head Start to college age) annually to ensure they are prepared for learning. We provide weekend food for 170 kids every week & clothes to help kids stay in school. God's Closet purchases food for families in need, coats for financially challenged kids, heaters & blankets for senior citizens.

Camp County Chamber of Commerce stated "When God's Closet identifies a need, they quickly step up and address the needs and serve our community with love. God's Closet is truly an asset to our community" and seniors say "I don't know where I would be without God's Closet." Every month a few of our seniors pass & they never had to worry about food.

God's Closet is also the Salvation Army of Pittsburg offering Emergency Assistance like life sustaining medicine, utility assistance, emergency rent during crisis.
