Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County

A nonprofit organization

Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County's (CACSC) mission is to protect and restore the lives of abused children through team investigations, healing services, community outreach and strategic partnerships.

The Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County (CACSC) exists to minimize the trauma children face when they have been victimized by physical or sexual abuse, or have witnessed a violent crime. The professionals at the CACSC are part of a multidisciplinary team, including Law Enforcement Agencies, Department of Family & Protective Services, District Attorney's Office, and the medical community, that works to ensure children (1,093 in 2023) have the opportunity to tell their stories to a specially trained Forensic Interviewer, receive guidance and support from Family Advocates, and begin the healing process with our Medical Team and Trauma-Focused Therapists. In addition, Community Education provides personal safety instruction for school children to prevent or report abuse and Trauma Informed Schools equips educators to be sensitive to school children who may have experienced trauma.

April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. Thank you for fighting child abuse and helping spread prevention awareness in Smith County! Check out our April awareness activities under EVENTS or at http://www.cacsmithcounty.org/events/.
