Winnsboro Center for the Arts

We continue to expand our educational and outreach programs to serve the needs and provide more opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds in Northeast Texas.  This year we are excited to welcome all to come explore our new 10,000 sq. ft. Creative Learning Center which will not only provide individual artistic development but foster multi-generational collaboration and cultural appreciation in our community by expanding offerings in visual arts, ceramics and glassworks, music classes, and theater to all ages.  

Many area schools are Title I school districts with more than 50% of students underserved. We also have a large community of retirement age citizens who enjoy artistic endeavors and community through local art classes.  This year's ETGD focus is on supplying equipment, tools, and supplies to fill the new Creative Learning Center so that we can provide more educational programming, and affordable cultural opportunities to our community and offer financial assistance if necessary.

The Creative Learning Center will house designated areas for children's visual arts, ceramics and glassworks, adult visual arts studio, music practice/lesson rooms, and a large multipurpose room for concerts, body movement, theater and other events.  This year's donations will go to funding much needed equipment and supplies.  Some examples from our equipment, tools and supplies wishlist include:

2 Energy-efficient 240-volt electric ceramic kiln

Professional-grade pottery wheels

Adjustable ADA worktables and stools for multiple rooms

Musical instruments

Lights and sound equipment for our multipurpose room
