For more than a century, Upbring has been committed to breaking the cycle of child abuse by empowering children, families, and communities to thrive. Founded in Texas and grounded in a legacy of compassion, Upbring works statewide to support children and families facing some of life’s greatest challenges.
Through programs focused on foster care, adoption, education, and family services, we create safe, nurturing environments where children can heal, grow, and reach their full potential.
Upbring’s Foster in Texas (FIT) program in Tyler serves children who have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma, or family crisis and need a safe place to call home. We recruit, train, license, and support foster families who open their hearts and homes to children during their most vulnerable moments.
Children entering foster care often arrive with few belongings, deep emotional wounds, and uncertainty about what comes next. Your support helps ensure that every child feels safe, supported, and valued from day one.
Some children in foster care face significant medical challenges that require around‑the‑clock care. Upbring is one of the few organizations in Texas licensed to place children with Primary Medical Needs (PMN) in specially trained foster homes.
Children with PMN may require:
These children deserve more than a placement — they deserve caregivers equipped with specialized training, in‑home nursing support, and continuous wraparound care.
