Who We Are

•Open Arms is a nonprofit foster facility nestled in the piney woods of Northeast Texas, dedicated to providing safe, nurturing care for children in need.

Why We're Doing This

•Between September 2024 and June 2025, 632 children in our region were removed from their homes due to safety concerns. Siblings separated hundreds of miles apart. Our home will keep siblings together to heal through our trauma informed, Montessori style- hands on program.

Where Do the Kids Come From?

•These children come from homes where, unfortunately, difficult circumstances have led to intervention by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Typically, children are removed temporarily while their parents receive support and complete services designed to restore family stability.

What Makes Our Facility Special?

•What sets Open Arms apart is our genuine commitment to healing through love. Our Montessori-inspired approach emphasizes therapeutic play, valuable everyday life skills, and continuous emotional support.

What type of placement do we focus on

•Our primary placement focus is on sibling groups, which are often the most difficult to place in traditional foster homes. Finding a home that can accommodate three, four, or even five siblings together is nearly impossible, yet keeping siblings together is critical for their emotional well-being. At Open Arms, we are committed to providing rooming options designed specifically for sibling groups, including potential 'sibling suites' that allow siblings to remain together in a safe, comforting environment where they can support one another during this challenging time.
