One Man's Treasure

About this Organization

Each year more than 15,000 indigent men return to the Dallas/Fort Worth and East Texas areas after their release from incarceration. Given $100, a bus ticket and an ill-fitting shirt and pair of pants, this vulnerable population faces many unique challenges to successful reentry with limited, if any, support when they return to their communities, including housing, clothing, food and employment. By providing these returning men with essential clothing for daily living, job interviews and employment opportunities, One Man's Treasure serves as a "fresh start" to help them achieve successful re-entry, gain employment which will allow them to lift themselves and their families out of poverty, lower recidivism and make our communities safer. Each set of clothing is personalized as to the size, color preference, and potential job opportunities of the individual client.

Since its founding in 2005, One Man's Treasure has delivered personalized sets of clothing to over 24,000 men in East and North Texas. In 2024, we served 635 men in East Texas which is an increase of 65% over last year.
