Olde School Artistry

A nonprofit organization

Olde School Artistry's mission is to provide local access to teaching and other resources that support the preservation of traditional crafts and the use of natural fibers. For everyone.

We believe that in-person, hands-on learning is the best way to grow in knowledge, skill, and supportive community. Our main goal is to provide ways for as many people as possible to learn traditional craft skills and experience the joy of working with natural fibers.

Our flagship program, "Where Do Clothes Come From?" is a hands-on, interactive event designed to teach people about the different types of fabric, the origins of natural fibers, and how these fibers are processed into the clothing we wear.

We are also dedicated to connecting artisans in our East Texas community with those who are eager to learn a new craft. From crochet and knitting, to the spinning wheel and weaving, our goal is to give everyone the opportunity to try something new. Introducing traditional crafts to more people, young and old, is not only an amazing way for people to slow down and enjoy life, but ultimately to keep these skills alive so they can be passed on to future generations.

Your donations help us bring programming into libraries and schools, as well as supply the tools and equipment we need to teach more skills to more people.

Thank you!
