Monarca Initiative

About this Organization

Monarca Initiative is making a lasting impact in Tyler by breaking down barriers and equipping individuals with the tools to thrive.

With 13% of Smith County residents over 25 lacking a high school diploma and Hispanics making up 21% of the population, our GED in Spanish program provides tailored instruction and bilingual support to bridge these gaps. We empower Spanish-speaking adults facing challenges like language, digital literacy, and finances. While participants continue learning English, earning their GED in Spanish accelerates their path to financial stability, opening doors to better jobs, higher education, and economic security.

Other services include advocacy, citizenship prep, workshops, computer classes (w/ Goodwill), ESOL (w/ Chapel Hill ISD), and Greener CASA: energy efficiency program (w/ UT Tyler). Our bilingual approach ensures accessibility, strengthens English skills, and creates an inclusive path to success, empowering families and driving community growth.
