HandsOn Texarkana is dedicated to bridging the gaps in community services by fostering a spirit of volunteerism. We aim to inspire and mobilize individuals to actively meet the diverse needs of our community, ensuring a positive and lasting impact for all. At HandsOn Texarkana, we believe no one in our community should fall through the cracks.

From our home at the historic Collins Home, we work every day to meet the needs that often go unseen—connecting volunteers with purpose and providing direct support to those who need it most. We are not funded by state or federal dollars. Instead, everything we do is made possible by people like you.

Our Senior Transport and Pantry program is at the heart of our mission. For many elderly individuals in our community, a simple doctor’s appointment or a warm, balanced meal is out of reach. Through dedicated volunteer drivers and compassionate staff, we provide rides to life-saving medical care, deliver food and essential items, and now offer “meals in a bag” kits that bring comfort, nutrition, and a sense of normalcy to those who are homebound or without support.

But what we provide goes far beyond transportation or food. We provide connection. A friendly face. A moment of conversation. A reminder that someone cares.

Each month, we serve hundreds of households across Bowie County, Texas and Miller County, Arkansas—seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities who have nowhere else to turn. Needs are identified daily through referrals, and those needs continue to grow.

In addition to our senior services, we strengthen our community through youth volunteer programs, parenting education, disaster preparedness efforts, and by connecting volunteers to nonprofits across our area. Everything we do is rooted in one simple goal: to improve quality of life through hands-on help.

*We are housed at the Collins Home for Weddings and Events, which is used as an event venue for special occasions. Rental fees help provide funding for programs provided and all funds stay in our community. We are not state or federally funded and rely soley on private foundation grants and community donations. 

We are a member of the Points of Light Network - a nonpartisan organization with a global reach with focus on civic engagement and civic health in communities.
