Hills and Valleys Refuge
About this Organization
Hills and Valleys Refuge is a nonprofit organization, initially incorporated in February 2024 in the State of Arkansas and later expanded to Texas, whose mission is to help at-risk youth by providing them with transitional housing, wrap-around peer support services. The target demographic is youth who are leaving the legal custody of state foster care systems and lack family, housing, and other resources. Our main facility will be located in Cass County Texas. Hills and Valleys Refuge will be operated under Christian principles with the ultimate purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all those who serve in or are served by the organization.
Over 20,000 youth age out of state foster systems every year in the United States and 1 out of 4 will become homeless and are are at a significantly higher risk for homelessness, human trafficking, and incarceration. Hills and Valleys seeks to provide a bridge from the time they leave state custody until they can acquire the life skills and maturity to successfully live on their own.
