WHAT IS GAPPS?

Grace And Peace Parent Services (GAPPS) is a new East Texas nonprofit that approaches the foster care crisis with upstream solutions. Built on five years of grassroots efforts and supported by leaders across the family court system, this new organization exists to help children safely return home. When families heal, everyone wins. 

Our mission: Building resilient parents and closing preventable gaps to reduce family separation by the foster care system.

If a parent is involved with Child Protective Services (CPS), family reunification skyrockets when moms and dads have access to mentorship and encouragement. At GAPPS, we go beyond basic parenting education by layering in authentic relationships and closing gaps in their support systems. 

GAPPS serves families three different ways: 

1. Prevent: early engagement when CPS is involved but children are still in the home. 
2. Restore: help parents navigate court-ordered services if their children have been removed from the home. 
3. Stabilize: cultivate lasting resilience to avoid repeat CPS cases.
