Our mission is to nourish our community with dignity and compassion by addressing hunger and essential needs for children, seniors, and families, ensuring every neighbor has the opportunity to live with health, stability, and hope.

In 2026, 16% of Henderson County residents are below the poverty level and suffer from food insecurity. In 2025 we served 1,325 families with 4,207 members.  We purchased and distributed over 207,267 lbs. of canned goods, fruit, vegetables, and protein. We are experiencing an increase in new families who are unable to overcome the overwhelming price increases for groceries.

We continue to focus on being recognized as a Healthy Food Pantry. The food purchases we make are providing vegetables, fruits, and grains rather than bulky poor food choice provisions. The amount of food received is based on the number of clients in each household. Our desire is to expand the availability of healthy choice selections for our families.

The Weekend Kid Program addresses food insecurity among young students at Tool Elementary School by ensuring children have access to nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Each Friday, 62 children receive food for weekend breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. These children represent nearly 30% of the school’s total enrollment of 211 Pre-K through 4th grade students.

By providing consistent weekend nutrition, the program helps reduce hunger, supports healthy growth, and allows children to return to school ready to learn.  Donor support directly impacts children’s health, stability, and academic success.

Our Senior hygiene room is highly valued by the neighbors we serve and we provide an assortment of hygiene items as well as additional food that is not available in our Marketplace.

Our volunteers are essential to keeping our mission running smoothly and efficiently. Their service supports both daily operations and direct community care.

Please donate to support our mission to provide support and hope to Henderson County Neighbors in need.
