Heart & Hands of East Texas

Our mission is to equip men and women with job skills and life skills in a Christ-centered environment. We provide Bible study, computer skills training. Boundaries classes and job training for both men and women so they can rise up and be all that God created them to be. We have graduated 82 participants so far, and we have had 18 professions of faith. We educate, equip, and empower men and women for employment and walk with them as they deepen their relationship with Christ.

The need for our ministry north of I-20 is great. Most of those who benefit from our organization do not have the means to travel to Tyler to obtain the skills they need to make better lives for themselves and their families. We lead them through the process of determining what their skills might be, what their career goals are, and then help them formulate a plan to reach those goals through computer training, job skills training, and spiritual development.
Our ministry is a Christian Job Corps Site, and we provide 2 semesters each year that meet for two days per week for 12 weeks. We added men to our ministry last semester, so we now serve both men and women.
We meet in our own wing at the Journey Center in Lindale, Texas. Although we are holding our classes, in our new location, we still have many things yet to do. We also rely on donations to provide the many materials and supplies that we give to each of our students including books and Bibles.
