Loath to even contemplate the sordid world of sex trafficking, it occurred quite plainly to me that these girls are some of the "very least, the ones no one wants to be with or even talk about"; so what would Jesus do? He would be ministering to them for sure. He engaged with those that society hardly acknowledged. Or if they did, it was to discount them or revile them. They were the "untouchables", the shamed and scorned. So it is, with those who find themselves in an almost inescapable trap. Many of the women who are trafficked were started at a young age, completely helpless. But they grow up and now may be able to escape their abusers who hold them captive through threats, withholding of necessities such as food, and forced drug use.....if they had a safe place to land that is. Well, Selah exists for that very reason! We are there when no one else is. If not us, then who? In just a few months of operation, we have given hope and healing to so many already in Jesus' name.
