ETYO is about more than making music, it's about transforming young people! Studies demonstrate the deep impact playing in an orchestra has on a young person's academic, social and creative development. For most of East Texas' student musicians, ETYO remains the only place where they can experience playing in an orchestra. I've seen the impact: Emily struggled with a difficult homelife, depression and self-esteem. She credits the ETYO family with helping her find her voice, develop her skills and become a confident young woman. Now she has her own jewelry-making business, has earned 1st chair in her Texas All-State band 4 years in a row, and is set to enter college in pursuit of a career as a surgeon. Sunday is our season finale, and the music will be inspiring. But I'll be more satisfied seeing students becoming more than they thought was possible. Your gift makes these transformations a reality.
