My family and I moved to Lufkin in 2022, and I quickly fell in love with the MET for many reasons: FREE: It is a FREE Museum for all of its visitors. That means my children get to experience “big city” culture & exhibits right down the road for NO COST! ART CAMP: Each summer my children have been able to spend part of their summers at the MET for Art Camp at an VERY affordable price taught by local art teachers in the community. This summer my son gets to participate in Lego Art camp, and Carboard Cardboard Creations. WEE ART: Nearly every Wednesday morning, my daughter and I take a toddler Art Class at the MET. For just $5 she gets to learn different age appropriate art techniques taught by the fabulous “Mrs. Heather”! COMMUNITY: I have had the privilege of serving on the MET Board for over a year now. My favorite part of serving has been the friends I have made - all different, but driven with the same passion: to enrich & educate the communities of East Texas through art.
