The Deal
Hi, I'm Cecilia Cuellar, and I'm running 70 miles in 7 days. Every $10 you donate puts another mile on my feet. Every mile puts another dollar toward a family in Smith County who needs a safe, stable place to call home.
You give. I run. Habitat builds.
Why Habitat for Humanity of Smith County?
Habitat doesn't give houses away. They build them with the families who will live in them. Future homeowners put in hundreds of hours of sweat equity, take homeownership classes, and pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat provides the partnership, the materials, and the volunteers that make the math work for working families who would otherwise be priced out.
In East Texas, where housing costs keep climbing and wages don't always keep up, that math matters. A stable home changes everything: kids do better in school, families build wealth, neighborhoods get stronger.
Why I'm Running?
I represented Mexico in international karate competition before I ever called myself a runner. I know what it feels like to commit to something that hurts a little, to show up day after day, to let discipline do the talking. Running 70 miles in 7 days is uncomfortable. Watching a family in our community wait years for a stable home is worse.
This is the small thing I can do. The big thing is what you do next.
How It Works
$10 donated = 1 mile I run. Goal: $700 raised, 70 miles run. Pace: 10 miles a day for 7 straight days, starting May 4th. I'll post Garmin receipts every day so you can hold me accountable.
Donate today, April 28. Every dollar counts. Every mile is for someone who needs a home.
