The Coalition's mission is to eliminate the use of harmful substances by influencing public policy, laws, attitudes and behaviors to foster healthy, life-long choices in East Texas. The Drug-Free All Stars and Drug-Free Councils are the heart of The Coalition!

Drug-Free All Stars are a select group of high school seniors in Angelina County who are alcohol, drug and nicotine-free role models. All Stars are trained as community leaders and spend their senior year mentoring area youth and volunteering for community activities.

The Drug-Free Council program promotes campus-based student groups with high school students who elect to be alcohol, drug and nicotine-free. DFC members conduct prevention activities for their school and district, and they spend their time mentoring younger peers and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. 

Many of the All Star and DFC activities and supplies are not supported by our state grants:

• T-shirts for All Stars & DFC members (students LOVE a free shirt!)
• Snacks & drinks for meetings (young people are HUNGRY!)
• Supplies for themed activities, such as Takis for the "Takis are Hot, Underage Drinking is Not!" prom campaign
